OK, here's KDE2.2.1. Changelog for the ebuilds from 2.2:

1) references to version numbers are now always generic, i.e. ${PV}. this means we have /etc/env.d/kde2.2.1 not kde221
etc.
2) We now install into /usr.
3) KDEDIR and QTDIR are as you know set in profile.env. Instead of harcoding them again in every kde ebuild, we now
source /etc/env.d/90{kde${PV},qt} in case we haven't logged out and logged in again to update profile.env since
installing qt and kde-env.
4) objperlink is now part of kde; no patch required. dev-utils/objprelink and the use flag are still operational.
5) try replaced with die in many instances.
6) very general cleanup.
7) kdemultimedia and kdegraphics are keeping their 2.2 -gentoo.diff patches until I can verify they aren't needed.
8) have fun!
